Declaration of KEPCO's
Human Rights Management

  1. 1.0 Purpose

    As a leading company of domestic and overseas energy industry, KEPCO fulfills social roles and responsibilities by actively practicing human rights management focused on human dignity and value throughout its entire business activities, and pursues sustainable development with stakeholders.

    To this end, we define our responsibilities to respect the human rights of customers, employees, business partners, and local communities, and announce the following Human Rights Management Declaration as the basis for any actions and value judgments that all employees shall abide by.

  2. 2.0 Principles of Conduct
    • We respect global standards and norms on human rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations (UN).
    • We prevent human rights violations in advance and strive to offer active assistance to those whose rights have been violated.
    • We do not discriminate against any stakeholders, including customers and employees on the basis of characteristics such as religion, gender, race, educational background, origin, disabilities and provide an ethical working environment with a culture of mutual respect and consideration.
    • We do not tolerate any form of forced labor and child labor when it comes to employment.
    • We enhance occupational health and safety by striving to provide a safe and sanitary working environment for all KEPCOemployees.
    • We uphold the freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, and pursue co-prosperity based on labor-management relations of trust.
    • We observe global standards, related laws with regard to environment and endeavor to protect the environment as well as to prevent pollution.
    • We care for customer value by providing customers with convenient and safe electricity service and protecting personal information collected for the purpose of business.
    • We respect the human rights of local residents at our domestic and overseas business sites, and pursue mutual growth.
    • We treat business partners fairly and support them practicing human rights management in their companies.

    We will meet our responsibility to protect and respect human rights of all other stakeholders wherever we operate. We pledge to do our best to embed human rights policy in our operations.
