Implementing Overseas Greenhouse Gas Reduction Project

As a global electricity company, KEPCO has been actively implementing CDM(Clean Development Mechanism) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by distribution of drinking water facilities in Bangladesh(2020) and distribution of cook stove in Myanmar(2020). CDM aims to invest capital and technology in developing countries regarding greenhouse gas reduction projects. Advanced countries can reflect the reduced emissions on their contribution performance and they can help developing countries without NDC to achieve sustainable development.
Moreover, in accordance with the Paris Agreement, SDM(Sustainable Development Mechanism) transition will be carried out, and KEPCO will discover and plan carbon reduction projects related to social and environmental issues of developing countries under the new SDM regime, while implementing greenhouse gas reduction projects in cooperation with local experts and agencies.
