When terminating the contract, submit the following documents to KEPCO branch office (by visit, mail or fax). There is no service charge for the termination, and KEPCO bears costs related to the removal of outside wiring.

In case the user is the building owner

  • Application for electricity use modification (KEPCO form)
  • Copy of the building management ledger or building register
  • Copy of the user´s ID card
  • Indoor wiring drawing or utilities modification specification (in case of termination; for private equipment customers only)

In case the user is not the building owner

  • Application for electricity use modification (KEPCO form)
  • Copy of the official lease contract
  • Copy of the user’s ID card
  • Indoor wiring drawing or utilities modification specification (in case of termination; for private equipment customers only).
  • Owner’s seal impression certificate (contract power of more than 6kW), copy of the owner’s ID card (for households consuming less than 5kW power)
  • Since the owner agreed to the usage of electricity under the user’s (lessee) name, while the user is using the electricity in the same area, the electricity use contract cannot be terminated without the consent of the user as a party to the contract. In case the owner applies for termination, however, he/she is deemed incapable of guaranteeing the electric charge payment; thus, the user should make the deposit for the electric charge to avoid contract termination.
  • Note
"Customers who wish to reuse electricity under the same conditions within 3 years after termination must pay a reuse fee (KRW 14,300 for single-phase, KRW 26,400 for three-phase).“
"In the case of more than 3 years and less than 10 years, the lesser of the total design facility charge and reuse fee or the new facility charge must be paid. If 10 years have elapsed, facility charges are paid as it is regarded as a new application for electricity use."
  • In case the house is demolished according to the city plan, road extension work, redevelopment plan, etc., please notify us of the construction date (by phone, etc.). Our staff will then visit the site and remove the meter on the date of the scheduled demolition of the house and contract termination. In addition, customers requiring a termination certificate to claim compensation from the operating government office or the company should pay electric charges as of the termination date and request for a termination certificate by calling any KEPCO office.
